Pollock Pines , California

Admin: Marie Grisham

Wright's Lake is located in northern California in the Crystal Basin Recreation area in the El Dorado National forest off Hwy 50 near Pollock Pines. The equestrian camp is separate from the main campgrounds. There are 12 -15 sites. Each site has a table, fire pit and bear box. No pens/corrals but you can high line to trees or bring your own pens. Potable water is located throughout the camp. 2 vault restrooms. A stream runs behind the camp with spots deep enough to play with your horse or to rinse them off after riding. Wright's Lake is within walking distance for swimming or kayaking. Horses are not allowed in the lake or on trails around the lake. However you can ride to nearby Beauty Lake or other lakes in the area. You are riding at altitude and horses should be in good condition and shod or booted.
