Winegar Wildlife Area

Mt Auburn, Iowa

Admin: Liz Heitshusen

Nicely maintained trails. We have logged at least 12 miles of trails here. Nice place for a day ride. The trees are thick enough that it is quite nice even in winter. Pretty views of the river on both trails. Great place to take a green rider or horse as it is not too difficult. Website Description- With nearly 2 miles of Cedar River shoreline, the Winegar Wildlife Area (including Mt. Auburn Boat Launch and Tobin's Cabin Area) offers spectacular opportunities to enjoy nature. Forested lowland areas surrounding oxbow lakes alongside the scenic Cedar River offers fishing and hunting opportunities (in season) and hiking and birding possibilities.
