Horse Ranch Park

Crested Butte, Colorado

Admin: Shelley LeBlanc

Approximately 12 miles out of Crested Butte, CO. Road is dirt-pretty good road, narrow in places and some sharp curves. Road surface is good, though. Camping area is basically a field, there is one pit toilet near trailhead in rear of camp area. There is a stream across the road for horse water-we brought a sump pump and filled coolers for horses-you could also just walk them over to drink. Trails are marked fairly well. BEAUTIFUL scenery at every turn. Surprisingly populated trails - lots of hikers, some trails are designated mountain biking trails, so your horse should be used to meeting people/bikers on some trails. Wilderness areas are quieter.
