Custer, South Dakota

This trail head is located west of Custer on Hwy 385 near Jewel Cave entrance. Small trail head parking. This trail is for hikers, bikers and horses. Recommend heading up to the top of Canyon and coming out the bottom. This is a challenging ride, not for ones who are scared of steep, narrow trails with steep drop offs. The ride is not a long one only about 2-2 1/2 hrs long. Was the most exciting and exhilarating ride I've been on. I would recommend that you have a very trust worth mount. Beware of downed logs and mountain goats on trail. The ride is so worth it once you make it across the top of Canyon and then down into the beautiful bottom it is breath taking.
