Flying R Ranch - West Plains, MO

West Plains, Missouri

Admin: Liz Heitshusen

A friend and I went here in October for a long weekend. It was gorgeous weather! We had a ton of fun as well. We stayed in the bunkhouse rooms. Be warned, the 2 person rooms are small but they work! You'll share a bathroom with the other bunkhouse guests. The cabins looked nice as well. The food was fantastic! It is quite a drive to town so I recommend getting a meal package or getting groceries before you come if you plan on cooking out. The trail app they suggest downloading is great. I have used it on several other trips as well. The have a nice variety of trails and a nice little obstacle course. We weren't aware of that trails from the Mark Twain National Forest were accessible from the ranch property until the last day. We will of course need to go back! I suggest buckling or tying your halter around the stall door. I caught someone's horse that had escaped by working his stall door open by reaching for grass!
