Alum Creek State Park

www.parks.ohiodnr.gov Challenging due to multiple short but steep hills and occasional muddy conditions is low lying areas. Mostly single path trail through hardwood forest. Several scenic overlooks of Alum Creek Reservoir. Primary trailhead is at the Howard Road horseman's campsite. Take Route 36/37, exit off Interstate 71 about 12 miles north of I-270 north of Columbus Ohio. Go one half mile east to County Road 35 (known locally as 3Bs&K Road). Go two miles north to Howard Road. Go west on Howard about one mile. The camp site is on the right just after you cross Alum Creek Reservoir.

There are 50 miles of bridle trails wind along the lakeshore through mature beech-maple forests and across deep ravines. Riders must provide their own mounts.

This is one place in Ohio I haven't checked out yet. I've heard mixed opinions about it. Some say they like it others don't, so I haven't made it a priority to get there, yet. Plan to this year though.
