Ashville, North Carolina

Michelle Gilbert from Conway, South Carolina loves riding at the Biltmore Estate in Asheville, North Carolina (America's largest home). Michelle said, “It’s such a beautiful place and one of my favorite places to ride. I feel so fortunate they allow us to visit this historic home and step back in time riding the trails and grounds of such a special place.”

Looking at Michelle's photo I think we can agree with her!

Bullard, Texas

Heather Peters tells us that one of her most favorite local places to ride at is Tarrant Ranch in Bullard, Texas. She tells us, "It’s primitive, no water, no bathrooms, no anything really. It’s about 30+ miles of trails. Some are easy-peasy and some get pretty challenging.  Most of it is in the woods but quite a bit is open pastures. Usually, there aren’t many other people there when we are. We like to camp by the blue swimming hole, cook over a campfire and look up at the stars! And they do provide horse panel stalls. But if there aren't any available, there is lots of room to put up a picket line system. We try and camp there a couple of times a year. They also have a large pond with an island in the middle that is perfect for swimming with the horses!”

Looking at Heather’s photos it’s understandable why she loves riding here – it looks beautiful and serene!

Triangle X Ranch - Tetons
Moose, Wyoming

Jeri Sample and her friend Mary Lou Kessler spent a week in the Tetons at Triangle X Ranch in Moose, Wyoming. Judging by her many photos they had fun! They had great wranglers, Chris, Bob & Wanda and had wonderful trail rides every day! Here’s what Jeri had to say about it…

“We went trail riding every day. There are planned trail rides (on rented horses) for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. All three were wonderful. You can choose your rides, slow scenic, medium, or fast. You can ride the mountains, the flatlands, or along the river. You can have a different ride every day! The scenery is beyond beautiful. These pictures don’t do it justice. It is the most beautiful place I have ever seen. Hospitality, food, and cabins are all wonderful. I would recommend this to anyone who wants a fabulous riding vacation.”

They were also close enough to the Grand Teton National Park and Yellowstone National Park to make a day trip. They even got to see Old Faithful! And there are many beautiful stop-offs as you’re driving through both parks where you can see amazing views of the Tetons, Yellowstone,  and wildlife. They saw buffalo and moose (with a baby!), crossed beautiful rivers and rode through beautiful valleys!

If you are unable to get your own horses out to Wyoming, Triangle X Ranch is a great place to go and still get on the back of a horse in some of the most amazing territories in the country!
