Georgia Ranch-Trail Rides LLC
Westcliffe, Colorado

Leave your worries behind, feel the beauty of nature and let your soul be touched on horseback

Georgia Ranch Trail Rides LLC is located at an impressive 2,500' elevation in the beautiful Wet Mountain Valley at the feet of the Rocky Mountains - with spectacular views of the stars and a *certified international dark sky community

*An IDA International Dark Sky Community is a town, city, municipality or other legally organized community that has shown exceptional dedication to the preservation of the night sky through the implementation and enforcement of a quality outdoor lighting ordinance, dark sky education and citizen support of dark skies. Dark Sky Communities excel in their efforts to promote responsible lighting and dark sky stewardship, and set good examples for surrounding communities.

Located near the small town of Westcliffe, which with all its great trails and unique nature, is not only a paradise for horseback excursions but also has many other non-horse sights and attractions.

A couple of the breathtaking attractions in our area is on the one side of the Royal Gorge Bridge, America’s highest suspension bridge. On the other side, the Great Sand Dunes are also located nearby, created by the unique wind patterns of the San Luis Valley.

The Wet Mountain Valley as a trail destination can be described as a centerpiece in a diverse landscape of grasslands, wetlands, conifer and aspen forests, alpine lakes, and tundra, combined with rich and diverse wildlife. Thereby, the terrain holds suitable trails for every demand and every desired difficulty, whether inexperienced beginner or experienced trail rider.

On the 1st of May 2021, there will be a horse motel available, so trail riders and horse owners can explore all the non-horsey attractions of our stunning area without any worries!

The horse motel will include outside paddocks without cover and an outside arena. Unfortunately, there are no RV sites or other outdoor facilities at this time.

Kirsten is originally from Germany and her passion for horses started very early when she was a little girl. She had her first horse, a Trakehner when she was 14 years old and her second one, a Thoroughbred, when she was 19 years old. At this time, there were no western trainers in Germany, so she had to ride English/classic. She bought her third horse at age 27, a warmblood, and luckily, she found a western trainer, they remained friends to this day, who trained her and her horse in the western riding style.

After a few years as a hobby western rider, she earned several certifications (e.g., western riding, trail riding, hoof trimming, certificate of competence in horse keeping, etc.). After the certifications, she guided many trail rides with guests in Germany and boarded horses as she lived in one of the biggest and most beautiful forests in Germany. Kirsten also trained a lot of horses to become calm and reliable trail horses.

Through her early love of John Wayne movies and her passion for western trail riding, it has been a blessing for her to live in the USA since 2017 and to have been able to open "Georgia Ranch -Trail Rides" in beautiful Wet Mountain Valley in Colorado in 2020.
